When we think about tight hamstrings, most of us think about not being able to touch our toes. But these muscles at the back of the thighs can influence much more than flexibility and may often contribute to feelings of stiffness and discomfort in the lower back.
In today’s world, many of us spend long hours sitting at desks, driving, or looking at screens. Over time, this lack of movement can leave our hamstrings feeling tight. While tight hamstrings aren’t the cause of all back pain, they can contribute to stiffness in the hips and lower back by affecting how the pelvis moves. That’s why stretching the back alone doesn’t always bring lasting relief.
In this new practice, we’ll gently release tension through the backs of the legs and create more freedom through the hips and lower back.
