20-Minute Core Strength Yoga

We often hear about people—myself included—wanting 6-pack abs, slimmer waists, or those perfectly toned biceps. And hey, there’s nothing wrong with that—who doesn’t want to look and feel good? But let’s get real for a second. If carrying your child up the stairs feels like you’re attempting Mount Everest, or lugging your suitcase through the airport leaves you questioning your life choices, then maybe it’s time to rethink what “strength” really means.

While it’s great to have aesthetic goals, why not take it a step further? Imagine having not just those toned abs but also the core stability to lift your child effortlessly, play tug-of-war with your dog without pulling a muscle, or hoist that suitcase onto the luggage rack without breaking a sweat. Strength isn’t just about looking good—it’s about moving through life with ease and confidence.

Think about your daily activities: bending down to pick up groceries, carrying laundry up and down stairs, cooking a healthy meal, or going on a hike with friends. These are the moments where functional strength comes into play. It’s the kind of strength that makes these tasks feel effortless, leaving you more energy to enjoy the things you love—like chasing after your little ones or doing that thumka effortlessly at the next sangeet. (you know it can get competitive!).

So, if you’re tired of feeling like you’ve run a marathon after a day of errands, this yoga class is for you. We’re focusing on building core stability, the foundation of functional strength, through a fun and challenging flow. We’ll work on key asanas like tabletop plank, side plank, and bridge pose, which are designed to strengthen your core and make daily activities easier and more comfortable.

And the best part? You’re not just building strength for the sake of it—you’re building a body that supports you in all those little (and big) moments that make life enjoyable.
